VOLUNTEER ROLES

Cocoon Family Support is run largely by volunteers. We are always looking for new volunteers with the right skills who feel passionate about supporting families to join our team.

Fundraising Co-Ordinator

Whatever level of responsibility you are looking for, whether its fundraising locally, organising events, take on adrenaline challenge or coordinate regional fundraising you can get involved with Cocoon Family Support.

We are looking for dedicated individuals to join Cocoon Family Support as part of our fundraising team, to help us continue the work we have started. Whether it is organising a cake sale, raffle, charity ball or sky dive, we need your help to raise the all-important funds we need.

We ask you to dedicate a minimum of 2 hours a week. This role is home based.

 

Cocoon Family Support Ambassador

Cocoon Family Support are looking for representatives in the community.

Have you experienced postnatal depression? Do you feel passionate about raising awareness about the illness and how our services can benefit families?

We are looking for men and women who can dedicate a minimum of 2 hours a week.

You will be asked to help us spread awareness throughout London about Cocoon Family Support.

Talk to groups in your community about our work and tell them how they can help. These may include women’s groups, clubs and societies.

Educate people about the stigma and lack of funding given to pre and postnatal illnesses

Inspire groups to support Cocoon Family Support and/or raise funds

Help us fundraise by organising your own events or by inspiring others to do so.

Look for local opportunities to raise awareness about Cocoon Family Support. For example, have a stand at a local event, or distribute literature.

Full training and ongoing support provided.

Cocoon Family Support Peer Support Volunteer

We are currently looking for those with lived experience of perinatal mental health issues to volunteer their time to help deliver our peer support services. We are particularly looking for volunteers to participate in running our family drop-in services on a friday afternoon in Vauxhall and a Saturday morning in Camden Town.

Your responsibilities would include attending a minimum of one drop-in a month for a minimum of 12 months. Your responsibilities would include helping to set up and pack away the drop-in space, greeting families and helping them settle into the group environment, engaging in conversation and helping those that are seeking support feel comfortable by offering a hot drink, snack and a sympathetic ear. You will also work alongside the facilitator to deliver any planned activities during the group.

Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Become a Cocoon Trustee:

We are looking for two people to join our vibrant board of trustees for our small but ambitious charity.

We are specifically looking for someone to take on the role of board Secretary. Cocoon seeks someone able to ensure that the administrative affairs of the charity are conducted within the legal requirements by which we are bound, including accurate minute taking, reporting to the Charities Commission, and managing the Board schedule of meetings and agendas.

We are also looking for an experienced HR professional to join our board. Peer Supporter

Cocoon Family Support is seeking parent volunteers to become peer supporters working with new parents affected by postnatal depression and anxiety. We are asking volunteers to donate two hours a week for a minimum of 9 months, full training will be provided.
