Music Therapy

A baby’s first interactions with the world are musical. Mothers, fathers and babies tune into each other through the sounds of their voices and through their bodies, often connecting together through call and response. The sounds they share together have all the common elements of music — pitch, melody, rhythm and tempo.

Leading international music therapy charity, Nordoff Robbins and London based family support charity, Cocoon Family Support, have teamed up to provide London families a unique opportunity.

We will be offering a free five week course of music therapy, designed to encourage bonding between parents and their babies.

Music is a wonderful medium for helping mothers, fathers and babies to strengthen their bond and form a deeper attachment.

This group will be led by a Nordoff-Robbins qualified music therapist experienced in working with new families. Come along and benefit from Nordoff Robbins’ 36 years of experience in music-making for health and wellbeing. This course is designed for families with children under 18 months. We welcome mother and baby, father and baby and couples with baby.
